How to Deal With Bad Roommates

Home is where the heart is, so when you have a horrible roommate, you can be assured you’re going to be in a world of heartache. It’s almost as bad as being homeless. You’re going out there into the world with a sanctuary to come back home to. There is no place of peace. Living in content worry, frustration and zero satisfaction can lead to a lot of mental issues. That said, you need to find a way to make things work quick. Here are some tips.

 

  • Be Straight With Them – The best thing you can do is be as direct as possible. Light reproaches and passive aggressive behavior will only fuel their fire. That kind of behavior will only ad to the tension within the home. You don’t have to be angry or mean, but be honest and serious.
  • Team Up – If it’s just you and your one difficult roommate, you can forget about making peace of this situation. Although if you live with an additional roommate you can bring to light the issues this problem one is making and the two of you can put him into shape or just kick him out.
  • Forget About It – If there is a personal dislike between you two, be the bigger man and rise above it. Don’t hold a grudge. Just let it go. Settle the dust in the air. At the end of the day both of you will be more happier.
  • Move – Some people can’t be reasoned with. Some situations cannot be made well and your best option is to just move. You don’t want to continue trying to make something work when it’s clearly broken beyond repair. Do yourself a favor and start looking for a new place.
