They have been smashing ratings since 1997 and have even bought their competition. Aside from being the lone giant in the world of Professional Wrestling, the WWE has brought to light a great number of stars from the likes of The Rock, Hulk Hogan and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Today we’re going to take you on a trip down memory lane and tell you where all your old favorite superstars are today.
Shawn Michaels – Then
Shawn Michaels first appeared in the WWE ring in the late 1980’s as part of the tag team, The Rockers. At the start of the 1990’s he would aim for success in a singles career. It was here that he would have classic matches like a ladder match against Razor Ramon at the Wrestlemania 10 and a successful tag team champion reign with Kevin Nash. At Wrestlemania 12 in 1996 he’d win his first ever World Championship against Bret Hart and become the first ever Grand Slam Champion. From that point on he’d become the most popular wrestler of his generation, winning over fans and breaking tons of records. He’d go to create the groundbreaking faction, D-Generation X and headline Wrestlemania 14 in 1998. Unfortunately he was forced into retirement after that match due to a back injury.
